Xcel first-quarter earnings dip on unseasonably warm winter

Xcel Energy reports its first-quarter earnings fell 10 percent to $183.9 million on warmer than normal weather last winter. The Minneapolis-based utility, which serves eight states including Minnesota, said Thursday, April 26, that earnings dropped from $203.6 million to $183.9 million for the quarter ended March 31, or from 42 cents a share to 38 cents a share.
