Most irish people support retaining euro currency, says survey

A new report shows that Irish people are still enthusiastic about retaining the Euro currency.The latest Eurobar Report shows that in Ireland, support for the Euro stands at 80%.The EU average is just 58%."The results show that the Irish public is willing to pursue a multilateral rather than a unilateral approach to the issues in the current crisis," said Professor Richard Sinnott, one of the authors of the report.The poll was taken between 11 and 25 of November last, covering both the period before and after the arrival of the EU/IMF team. When attitudes towards who was best equipped to deal with the crisis are measured, support for the EU as best-equipped remains more or less constant at 32 and 33%.
