Ignatieff needs to stop talking about himself
National Post Saturday 9th April, 2011
Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff. Michael Ignatieff must know that the one topic he must avoid at all costs is Michael Ignatieff -- yet he can't help himself. At a press conference in Toronto Saturday, he was asked by a reporter from National Public Radio in the U.S. why such someone so well-known abroad has found it so hard to convince Canadians he is the right man to lead the country. He started off on a sound footing, pointing out that 20% of the population was born abroad and that two million Canadians at any one time work overseas. "One of the things Canadians see is that I've lived that international life. My opponent regards this as a problem but I regard it as an asset," he said.
