Wouter Weylandt dies after Giro d'Italia crash

Cyclist Wouter Weylandt in last year's Giro d'Italia Belgian cyclist Wouter Weylandt has died after crashing on the third stage of the Giro d'Italia today, his Leopard Trek team have confirmed. The 26-year-old rider fell with 25 kilometres remaining and was unconscious with blood coming from his mouth and nose before medics gave him a cardiac massage at the scene. He was later airlifted to hospital but was pronounced dead before further treatment could be administered.
