• Second attack in less that a week
• No US soldiers lost
A United States military base in eastern Iraq came under rocket attack on the weekend.
It was the second attack in less than a week at the Echo Army base near the city of Diwaniyah.
Fars News Agency reported the base had been hit with Katyusha rockets, supposedly fired from the southern parts of the city.
Last Sunday, three rockets were fired at the base.
After this weekend's event, US helicopters were sent on a search mission to find the rocket launchers.
It is believed no US soldiers were lost in the latest attack.
Meanwhile, a study, run by the prestigious British polling group, Opinion Research Business, has shown over one million Iraqis have suffered violent deaths as a result of the US occupation.
