Capello calls for end to robbery of world's top young players

Irish Sun (ANI) Friday 30th December, 2011

England manager Fabio Capello has lashed out at Europe's biggest football clubs for luring some of world's leading young footballing talent to their clubs.

He also urged FIFA to take stern action to stop stealing of young talent around the world by asking for prohibition of overseas teenagers.

Capello's statement can have serious implications in future on transfer deals all over Europe.

According to the Telegraph, if the new rules are put into practice then it can bear good results for England too.

Capello, throughout his tenure as manager of English national side has expressed his discontentment at the scarcity of young English talent coming up, the paper said.

"A line needs to be drawn. Clubs are talent-scouting all over the world and are stealing young players by bidding higher and not thinking of the consequences for those countries," Capello told a football conference in Dubai.

Capello also believes that this fishing for the world for talented young players by big clubs is more about ethics and needs immediate attention. (ANI)
