With the sudden departure of Joel Santana to Flamengo, Bahia has announced the signing of Brazilian soccer legend Paulo Roberto Falcao as its coach.

Falcao has a vast amount of experience, previously coaching the Brazilian and Japanese national soccer teams, Mexico's America and his alma matter, Internacional.

Falcao is expected to make his debut with Bahia Sunday when the team faces Vitoria in the eighth round of the Bahia state championship, Xinhua reported.

The new head coach is stepping into a comfortable position as the team is currently on a five-game winning streak and lies at second place with 16 points.
