Irish Sun Tuesday 29th January, 2008

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been urged by his son to stop terror attacks.

Egyptian news agencies report Omar bin Laden, 26, made the plea to his father during an interview on an Egyptian TV program.

Omar bin Laden said that the killing of civilians contradicts religion, democracy and humanity and expressed his intention to be an ambassador for peace.

Omar also called on his father to stop using bombs and weapons and to find another way to reach his goals.

He added that he has had no contact with his father and has since seeing him in Afghanistan in 2000.

Omar's British wife Jane Felix-Brown, who has changed her name to Zaina Alsabah, also appeared on the TV show to deny she is Jewish.

She said that her father, an Arab Muslim, immigrated to Britain in 1946 and married a British Christian woman.
