DUBLIN, Ireland - A serious crash involving a tram and a vehicle on Tuesday left the Irish capital experiencing long traffic delays.
The collision between a van and a tram, which led to Luas services being affected, took place around the Cheeverstown area of Tallaght.
For a long while following the collision, there were no services between the Saggart and Belgard stops.
Later, a shuttle bus service had been organised by the company between these stops.
The Luas released a statement saying, "Red line passengers please be advised that due to a road traffic accident at Cheeverstown, there is currently no service between Saggart and Belgard Luas stops. A 'Dualway' coach service will be introduced at the affected stops. Luas tickets are valid for this service. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.”
Hours later, the Red line fully re-opened and services were back running with minor delays.
