Two Bundesliga players paid tribute to George Floyd after scoring goals in Germany on Sunday.
Floyd died this week in police custody in Minneapolis, sparking a wave of protests across the United States.
Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho celebrated the first of his three goals in a 6-1 win against Paderborn by removing his jersey to reveal the handwritten statement "Justice For George Floyd" across the front of his yellow undershirt.
Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram took a knee after one of his two goals in a 4-1 win against Union Berlin. He later shared the image on Instagram. "Together is how we move forward. Together is how we make a change. justiceforgeorgefloyd blacklivesmatter morethananathlete," he wrote.
Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is white, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with third-degree murder in the death of Floyd, an African American. Chauvin was also charged with second-degree manslaughter.
