CO WICKLOW, Ireland - A young woman who her foster father repeatedly raped has spoken out after he was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Stephen Murray, of Humphreystown, Valleymount, Co Wicklow, was sentenced for raping his foster daughter three to four times per week for seven years.
Kelly Kemmy, 24, who waived her right to anonymity, said he raped her 1,000 times between 11 and 18, turning her life into a "living nightmare."
Ms. Kemmy told reporters outside the court Friday that she was pleased with the sentence and would like to move on with her life.
The accused, 56, pleaded guilty to 14 counts of rape, two counts of oral rape, and one count of sexual assault between February 2009 and December 2015.
