Talor Gooch shot a 5-under-par 65 on Saturday to take a one-shot lead after two rounds at the LIV Golf Invitational Boston.

Gooch sits at 12-under 128, one stroke ahead of Chile's Joaquin Niemann (65) and two in front of Dustin Johnson, who carded a 63 at The International (Oaks Course). Johnson tied for the low round of the day with Sihwan Kim.

India's Anirban Lahiri sits solo fourth at 9 under, three shots back. Three players are tied for fifth at 8 under, four shots back.

Gooch opened his round with a bogey on No. 1 but then carded six birdies the rest of the way.

"I've been able to get off the tee really well, and when I do that, especially out here, you're going to have opportunities, and so you never complain when you're shooting 5-, 6-, 7-, 8-under par," Gooch said. "You don't take good rounds for granted, but you also aren't satisfied."

Johnson vaulted seven spots up the leaderboard despite also starting his round with a bogey on No. 1. He went on to record eight birdies and an eagle against two bogeys overall.

"I've been playing solid, I feel like, every week," Johnson said. "Each round I've felt like I'm doing the right things. Eventually it's all going to come together. Even today was good at times, but still made a few -- quite a few mistakes. The game is definitely in good form, and I like the direction it's heading in."

Kim's 63 came one day after his opening-round 87. He remains in last place at 10 over.

The big rounds from Gooch and Johnson boosted their team, 4 Aces GC, into the lead at 22 under. They're now three shots ahead of first-round leader Hy Flyers GC, led by Phil Mickelson.
