CO MAYO, Ireland - A 13-year-old boy who crashed a tractor he was driving has died in hospital.
The single-vehicle collision occurred in County Mayo on Saturday night.
Shortly after 8:15pm Saturday, Garda and emergency services were alerted that a tractor had overturned on a local road (L1610) at Scarduane near Claremorris.
The 13-year-old boy, the driver of the tractor, was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being rushed to Galway University Hospital. He has since been identified as a local boy, Kyle Pilbrow.
Kyle was subsequently transferred to Temple Street Hospital, in Dublin where he died on Sunday.
A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators before the road at the crash site fully reopened to traffic.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
