DUBLIN, Ireland: Nearly 450,000 passengers are expected to travel through Dublin Airport between Good Friday and Easter Monday weekend.
This includes 220,000 departing passengers and 230,000 arriving at Dublin Airport over the four days.
Passenger numbers are expected to rise steadily as the weekend gets closer, with many holidaymakers traveling abroad and visitors coming to Ireland for the Easter break.
Sunday is likely to be the busiest day for departures, with nearly 57,000 people flying out. Good Friday is expected to be the busiest day for arrivals, with around 59,000 passengers arriving.
Dublin Airport's managing director, Gary McLean, said they are ready to welcome large numbers of travelers over the Easter weekend and help them reach their destinations, whether they are going on holiday or returning home to be with family and friends. He added that although Easter is earlier this year, which may change travel patterns, the airport still expects a very busy period.
He said airport staff are working to ensure a smooth, positive experience and advised passengers to arrive early so they can move through the airport easily and start their journey without stress.
Travelers are advised to arrive at least two hours before short flights and three hours before long flights to allow enough time for security checks and reaching their gate.
